Laramie, WY (SportsNetwork.com) - Larry Nance, Jr. registered a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds to help the Wyoming Cowboys to a 76-53 victory over the Utah State Aggies in a Mountain West Conference matchup at Arena- Auditorium.
Josh Adams added 17 points and eight assists for Wyoming (22-8, 11-6 MWC) as it ended a two-game losing slide. Derek Cooke, Jr. netted 11 points, while Alan Herndon supplied 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor.
Chris Smith led the Aggies (18-11, 11-6) with 18 points. Jalen Moore contributed 11 points and David Collette had 10, but it was not enough to keep USU's six-game winning streak intact.
The Cowboys took a 40-30 lead into the intermission after they converted 9- of-10 attempts at the free-throw line in the opening period. USU was limited to 40 percent efficiency from the floor and committed eight personal fouls before the break.
Wyoming outrebounded the visitors, 16-8, and assisted 13 of its 16 makes from the floor in the second stanza. The Aggies were held scoreless over the final 3:01 of the contest.
The Cowboys dominated on the interior as they outrebounded USU, 30-21, and outscored the Aggies, 32-22, in the paint.
