Coordinator of the Week (Defense): Ben Albert and Matt Guerrieri, Duke

Duke’s defense made a handful of key plays to win at Miami on Saturday night. The Blue Devils limited the Hurricanes to 411 yards and 12 points and allowed just three third-down conversions on 14 attempts. Additionally, this unit recorded three sacks and eight tackles for a loss and forced two turnovers. Duke’s defense also made a late stand with the game on the line, keeping the Hurricanes out of the end zone as time expired to preserve the victory.

Team of the Week: Pitt

Friday night’s 23-13 victory over Virginia moved Pitt into the driver’s seat to win the Coastal Division title. With less-than-ideal weather conditions, coach Pat Narduzzi’s team leaned on a ground game that generated 254 yards and a standout defensive effort to move to 4-1 in league play. The Panthers held Virginia to 44 rushing yards and generated five sacks. Additionally, this unit limited the offense to eight or fewer yards on three out of their last four drives.

Freshman of the Week (Offense): Tobias Oliver, QB, Georgia Tech

Oliver led the Georgia Tech ground game with 120 yards and two touchdowns and completed both of his passes for 104 yards and a score in Saturday’s win over North Carolina.

Freshman of the Week (Defense): Brandon Sebastian, CB, Boston College

Sebastian recorded 10 tackles and an interception in Boston College’s win over Virginia Tech.
