Christmas is over you say? Not for college football fans as Wednesday kicks off four straight days chock-full of bowl games with more to follow. Wednesday's slate has a little something for everyone – two of college football's top running backs will share the stage in Dallas; a longtime, successful head coach is set to say farewell in Detroit; and two of the nation's stingiest defenses faceoff in Phoenix.

1:30 p.m. ET, ESPN — Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas
Why You Should Watch: This matchup features two of college football’s top running backs, and both teams are strong on defense. Boston College’s AJ Dillon battled an ankle injury for a chunk of the 2018 season, yet finished with 1,108 yards and 10 scores. Boise State’s Alexander Mattison posted 200 yards in the Mountain West title game and finished the year with 1,415 yards and 17 touchdowns.

5:15 p.m. ET on ESPN — Ford Field in Detroit
Why You Should Watch: This will be the final game for Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson, who is retiring. has decided to retire after the end of this season. Minnesota upset Big Ten West rival Wisconsin in the regular-season finale to get the Gophers to a bowl game in head coach P.J. Fleck's second season. The Yellow Jackets lead the nation in rushing offense (334.9 ypg) and how well the Gophers (170.7 rushing ypg allowed) hold up against Johnson's flexbone option attack will determine the outcome.

9 p.m. ET, ESPN — Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz.
Why You Should Watch: A defensive slugfest is on tap for this matchup in Phoenix. California is only allowing 21.3 points a contest, while TCU isn’t far behind at 24.4. Turnovers will be crucial in a tight game and have been an issue for both teams. TCU is minus-six, and California is minus-two this season.
