New BYU head coach Kalani Sitake inherits a Cougar program that is not broken. The Cougars have won at least eight games or more in nine of the last 10 seasons, but Sitake comes into the program where the schedule might be the toughest the school has ever faced.
With Tanner Mangum and Taysom Hill both returning, BYU has arguably the best quarterback unit in the country. That’s a good problem to have for a first-year head coach in Sitake, who has generated a lot of buzz and excitement around the fan base, the likes of which the program has not seen in a long time. But will that buzz continue with some wins against Power 5 opposition? The Cougars face six P5’s in 2016, the most since becoming an independent in ‘11.
