Coastal Carolina Cheerleaders Suspended After Prostitution Allegations

The Coastal Carolina University cheerleading squad in Conway, S.C., has been suspended amid prostitution allegations.

One cheerleader spoke to WMBF News saying an anonymous letter was sent to David DeCenzo, the school's president, and the team has been suspended indefinitely pending investigation. The letter stated the team has engaged in "a long list of things" including prostitution, paying people to complete school assignments, and purchasing alcohol for younger members of the team. Evidence of the team has been taken down from the school's website for now.

"At this time, we can only confirm the suspension because this is an ongoing investigation," CCU Vice President of Communications William Plate told

As of now the team's upcoming competitions have been canceled.
