College Football 2017 Midseason All-America Team

Athlon hands out All-America honors at the midway point of the 2017 season.

With half of the 2017 college football season completed, it’s time to hand out some hardware in the form of midseason All-America selections. This list is likely to look drastically different by December, but the players honored and mentioned below have performed at a high level through the first seven weeks of 2017.

On offense, it should be no surprise Oklahoma senior Baker Mayfield leads the way at quarterback. Mayfield has just one interception on 161 attempts and is completing 72.7 percent of his passes. Penn State’s Saquan Barkley and Stanford’s Bryce Love take the honors at running back, with a pair of Big 12 receivers – Oklahoma State’s James Washington and West Virginia’s David Sills – earning honors after the first seven weeks. The defense is headlined by standout NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb and Michigan tackle Maurice Hurst, along with two members – Levi Wallace and Minkah Fitzpatrick – from Alabama’s secondary.

Who were the top players from the first seven weeks of action? Athlon Sports selects midseason All-Americans for 2017:
