2021 Preseason All-America Team
The 2021 college football season is slated to start in late August and it’s time to honor the best of the best for the upcoming year. The SEC leads the way with 31 selections on the 2021 Athlon Sports' All-America Team with the Big Ten and Big 12 up next with 20 apiece. The Pac-12 has 14 selections, while the ACC checks in with 13. Alabama has the most overall players selected (seven), with Oklahoma, Iowa State and Clemson tied for second with six players picked.
Athlon Sports released its 2021 all-conference teams earlier this offseason, and now the focus shifts to the All-America team. Whether it’s quarterback, defensive end or a spot on special teams, picking the best of the best is no easy task.
An important note on the All-America teams: These selections are based on how players will perform in 2021. Career statistics and previous awards matter in player evaluation, but choosing players for the 2021 All-America team and all-conference teams is largely based on predicting and projecting the upcoming year.
