College Football Games on TV Today
Florida Atlantic at Southern Miss, 6:30 p.m. on CBSSN
This game was originally scheduled for Oct. 10. Back then Florida Atlantic finally had one game under its belt while Southern Miss was off to a 1-3 start and under interim head coach Scotty Walden following the resignation of Jay Hopson after a season-opening loss. Fast-forward to now and the Owls enter this game 5-2 overall playing for bowl positioning while the Golden Eagles are 2-7 and recently named Tulane offensive coordinator Will Hall as their new head coach after the interim (Scotty Walden) left for FCS Austin Peay. Needless to say, it's been an interesting couple of months in Hattiesburg, so can Southern Miss finish this roller-coaster campaign off with an upset of FAU?
Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech, 7 p.m. on ESPN3
Originally scheduled for Nov. 14, Pittsburgh will try and finish .500 in conference play while Georgia Tech has a similar shot if the Yellow Jackets can beat the Panthers and then take down Miami next Saturday (if that game gets played). Pitt (5-5 overall) should be in good shape for a bowl berth, but the Panthers have been hit by opt outs throughout the season so there have been a lot of changes on the depth chart. Georgia Tech continues to make strides under second-year head coach Geoff Collins and Friday night presents another opportunity for team the Yellow Jackets to show their growth.
