Championship Weekend kicks into high gear with a full slate of college football conference championship games on tap for Saturday, Dec. 4. Besides the eight conference title games, USC and California also will wrap up their seasons with a rescheduled matchup.
So if you're wondering "What college football games are on today?" know this: There are nine involving FBS teams scheduled for today, Saturday, Dec. 4.
Note: All times are ET. The number listed next to the team is from the College Football Playoff rankings.
College Football Games on TV Today
Big 12 Championship: No. 9 Baylor vs. No. 5 Oklahoma State (Arlington, Texas), 12 p.m. on ABC
For the first time in six editions, someone other than Oklahoma will win the Big 12 Championship Game. (Sooners won 2017-20, plus 2010 before the game was discontinued.) Oklahoma State knocked out its Bedlam rivals last Saturday and can make a final case for a College Football Playoff spot with a convincing win over Baylor in AT&T Stadium.
MAC Championship: Kent State vs. Northern Illinois (Detroit), 12 p.m. on ESPN
These two teams met in early November and combined for 99 points and more than 1,300 yards of offense. The rematch in Ford Field may not feature quite as many offensive fireworks, but points shouldn't be hard to come by either.
Mountain West Championship: Utah State at No. 19 San Diego State, 3 p.m. on FOX
Utah State is aiming for its first Mountain West title, while San Diego State is hoping to improve to 3-0 on this stage. The contrast in styles should make for an entertaining affair: The Aztecs have gotten it done with a stout defense and running the football, but the Aggies prefer to take to the air.
Sun Belt Championship: Appalachian State at No. 24 Louisiana, 3:30 p.m. on ESPN
Billy Napier is coaching in his final game for Louisiana before heading off to take over at Florida. The Ragin' Cajuns were robbed of a shot at a Sun Belt title last year because of COVID-19, but now they'll get a chance to exact some revenge against Appalachian State, the team that beat them for the crown in 2018 and '19.
SEC Championship: No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 3 Alabama (Atlanta), 4 p.m. on CBS
Georgia is undefeated, Alabama is the defending national champions. These two teams are no strangers to each other in high-stakes games played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. What more needs to be said?
AAC Championship: No. 21 Houston at No. 4 Cincinnati, 4 p.m. on ABC
Cincinnati is on the cusp of becoming the first Group of 5 team to make the College Football Playoff. All that stands in the Bearcats' way is a Houston team that was won 11 in a row.
Big Ten Championship: No. 2 Michigan vs. No. 13 Iowa (Indianapolis), 8 p.m. on FOX
After exorcising years' worth of demons with a convincing victory over Ohio State, Jim Harbaugh's team can mark two more things off the list with a win over Iowa in Lucas Oil Stadium. Can the defensive-minded Hawkeyes spoil the Wolverines' Big Ten title and College Football Playoff dreams?
ACC Championship: No. 15 Pittsburgh vs. No. 16 Wake Forest (Charlotte, N.C.), 8 p.m. on ABC
Two of the nation's most explosive offenses meet in Charlotte to put an official end to Clemson's six-year reign in the ACC. Kenny Pickett and Sam Hartman could both put on a show in Bank of America Stadium, although Pittsburgh's defense could prove to be the difference.
USC at California, 11 p.m. on FS1
California's COVID-19 issues forced this game to be postponed from Nov. 13. Neither team is going to a bowl game, but don't tell that to USC or its fans who are still pinching themselves over the fact that Lincoln Riley is the Trojans' new head coach.
