Week 6 of the 2019 college football season kicks off with two games on Thursday, Oct. 3. Several high-profile programs are on bye this week but there's still plenty of conference action to keep college football fans occupied. Thursday offers a pair of games involving Sun Belt and American Athletic Conference (AAC) teams.

So if you're wondering "What college football games are on today?" know this: There are two scheduled involving FBS teams for today, Thursday, Oct. 3.

College Football Games on TV Tonight

Georgia Southern at South Alabama, 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU

Both teams have just one win on the season with the victory coming against an FCS opponent. Georgia Southern lost by three points at Minnesota three weeks ago and is averaging more than 200 rushing yards per game (fewer than 50 through the air). South Alabama is 0-5 vs. the Eagles.

Temple at East Carolina, 8 p.m. on ESPN

The Owls are coming off a big win over Georgia Tech while the Pirates have won two in a row. Temple is in the top 25 in the nation in both total and scoring defense. East Carolina has improved its scoring defense (22.6 ppg) by nearly more than 15 points compared to last year (37.3).
