Weekly college football top 25 rankings are a big part of every season, and Athlon Sports will update its top 25 following the games each weekend. The 15th weekend of the 2020 season was headlined by LSU's upset over Florida, Alabama's easy win against Arkansas, Coastal Carolina's comeback at Troy and North Carolina's blowout victory at Miami. Additionally, Week 15 saw USC, Oklahoma State, Georgia and Auburn earn victories in league play. Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State take the top four spots, with Texas A&M at No. 5 and Cincinnati at No. 6 in the post-Week 15 top 25 rankings. With the 15th week of the 2020 season officially in the books, here are the top 25 teams in college football:

College Football Top 25 Rankings

1. Alabama (10-0)

Week 15 Result: Defeated Arkansas

The Crimson Tide capped a perfect 10-0 season in SEC play with a 52-3 win over Arkansas. Alabama won all 10 games by 15 points or more.

2. Notre Dame (10-0)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Fighting Irish were off in Week 15 and return to action next Saturday in the ACC Championship Game against Clemson.

3. Clemson (9-1)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Tigers were off in Week 15 and return to action next Saturday in the ACC Championship Game. Clemson lost to Notre Dame in early November and needs to win to make the CFB Playoff.

4. Ohio State (5-0)

Week 15 Result: No Game

Ohio State’s annual matchup with Michigan was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. The Buckeyes will play Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday.

5. Texas A&M (7-1)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Aggies were slated to play Ole Miss, but the game was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Texas A&M returns to the field next week at Tennessee.

6. Cincinnati (8-0)

Week 15 Result: No Game

Cincinnati’s contest at Tulsa was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. However, the Bearcats and Golden Hurricane will play in the AAC Championship Game this Saturday.

7. Indiana (6-1)

Week 15 Result: No Game

Indiana’s Week 15 matchup against Purdue was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

8. Iowa State (8-2)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Cyclones were off in Week 15. Coach Matt Campbell’s team returns to action next week against Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game.

9. Florida (8-2)

Week 15 Result: Lost to LSU

Late penalty will get most of the attention, but Florida simply made too many mistakes in a game it was heavily favored to win.

10. Georgia (7-2)

Week 15 Result: Defeated Missouri

The Bulldogs averaged a season-high 8.4 yards per play in the 49-14 win at Missouri.

11. Oklahoma (7-2)

Week 15 Result: No Game

Oklahoma’s Week 15 game versus West Virginia was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. The Sooners will play in the Big 12 Championship against Iowa State next Saturday.

12. Coastal Carolina (11-0)

Week 15 Result: Defeated Troy

Chanticleers keep perfect season alive thanks to five-play, 75-yard drive with just over a minute remaining to beat Troy 42-38.

Wildcats gashed Illinois for 411 rushing yards in final tune up before Big Ten Championship Game showdown against Ohio State.

17. Iowa (6-2)

Week 15 Result: Defeated Wisconsin

Hawkeyes used a strong defensive effort to beat Wisconsin in Iowa City for the first time since 2008.

18. Louisiana (9-1)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Ragin’ Cajuns were off in Week 15 and play next Saturday against Coastal Carolina for the Sun Belt Championship.

19. Miami (8-2)

Week 15 Result: Lost to North Carolina

Miami took too long to get going on offense, and the defense had no answers for North Carolina in a 62-26 defeat.

20. Tulsa (6-1)

Week 15 Result: No Game

Tulsa’s Week 15 home matchup against Cincinnati was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. However, the Golden Hurricane will get a shot at the Bearcats on Saturday for the AAC title game.

21. NC State (8-3)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Wolfpack completed their regular season last week by defeating Georgia Tech. Coach Dave Doeren’s team improved its win total by four from last year.

22. Liberty (9-1)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Flames did not play in Week 15. Coach Hugh Freeze’s team does not have an automatic bowl bid, but Liberty is in the mix to play this postseason.

23. Buffalo (5-0)

Week 15 Result: Defeated Akron

The Bulls won all five of their games by 19 or more points this year. Coach Lance Leipold’s team will have a chance to win the program’s first MAC title on Friday against Ball State.

24. Texas (6-3)

Week 15 Result: No Game

The Longhorns were slated to play Kansas in Week 15, but the matchup was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Athletic director Chris Del Conte announced Tom Herman will return as the head coach for 2021.

25. San Jose State (6-0)

Week 15 Result: Defeated Nevada

Spartans use 23 second-half points to beat Nevada and clinch a trip to the Mountain West title game for the first time in program history.
