Ranking the top 25 teams in college football after Week 5.

Weekly college football top 25 rankings are a big part of every season, and Athlon Sports will update its top 25 following the games each weekend. The fifth weekend of the 2017 season was filled with exciting games and intriguing league matchups. Alabama dominated Ole Miss to remain No. 1 in the rankings, and Clemson remained at No. 2 following a huge road victory at Virginia Tech. Oklahoma, Penn State and Washington round out the top five once again, with Ohio State, Georgia and Michigan highlighting the next tier of teams. USC slips to No. 13 following Friday night's loss to Washington State. UCF, Georgia Tech and Florida join the rankings following the Week 5 action.


College Football Top 25 Rankings


1. Alabama (5-0)

Week 5 Result: Defeated Ole Miss


Alabama has rolled its last two opponents by a combined score of 125-3.


2. Clemson (5-0)

Week 5 Result: Defeated Virginia Tech


Timely plays by quarterback Kelly Bryant and another standout effort on defense guide the Tigers to win in Blacksburg.


3. Oklahoma (4-0)
