Weekly college football top 25 rankings are a big part of every season, and Athlon Sports will update its top 25 following the games each weekend. The fourth weekend of the 2018 season featured its share of big matchup and upsets. Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State remain the top four teams following Week 4, with LSU, Oklahoma and Notre Dame headlining the next tier. Michigan State, Kentucky, Texas and Duke join the top 25 after big wins in Week 4. With the fourth week of the 2018 season officially in the books, here are the top 25 teams in college football:

College Football Top 25 Rankings (After Week 4)

1. Alabama (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Texas A&M

Crimson Tide keeps rolling behind quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s huge afternoon (387 yards and four touchdown tosses) in win over Texas A&M.

2. Clemson (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Georgia Tech

Will the Tigers make the full-time switch to Trevor Lawrence at quarterback?

3. Georgia (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Missouri

Bulldogs had an answer every time Missouri tried to get back in the game.

4. Ohio State (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Tulane

Buckeyes win easily in Urban Meyer’s return to the sideline.

5. LSU (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Louisiana Tech

Louisiana Tech made things interesting in the second half, but 14 fourth-quarter points helped LSU pull away for a 38-21 victory.

6. Oklahoma (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Army

Army gave Oklahoma all it could handle, but Sooners survive in overtime.

7. Notre Dame (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Wake Forest

Brian Kelly’s decision to switch to Ian Book at quarterback paid big dividends in the win over Wake Forest.

8. Auburn (3-1)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Arkansas

Despite being outgained 290 to 225 in total yardage, Tigers defeated Arkansas by 31 points.

9. Washington (3-1)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Arizona State

Washington’s standout secondary held Arizona State receiver N’Keal Harry to just five catches for 20 yards on Saturday night.

10. Penn State (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Illinois

Miles Sanders’ 200 rushing yards and a solid defensive effort in the second half help Penn State pull away from Illinois for a 63-24 win on Friday night.

11. Stanford (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Oregon

Oregon’s turnovers help Cardinal steal a key Pac-12 victory in overtime.

12. Michigan (3-1)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Nebraska

Wolverines completely dominated Nebraska to open Big Ten play with a 1-0 record. Jim Harbaugh’s team quietly continues to get better after the loss to Notre Dame to start the year.

Ducks were in complete control against Stanford, but two second-half turnovers completely changed the outlook for both teams.

20. Mississippi State (3-1)

Week 4 Result: Lost to Kentucky

Bulldogs’ offense was stuck in neutral all night in Saturday night’s loss to Kentucky.

21. Colorado (3-0)

Week 4 Result: Bye Week

The Buffaloes were off in Week 4 and return to action next week against UCLA.

22. Texas A&M (2-2)

Week 4 Result: Lost to Alabama

Jimbo Fisher loses SEC opener to Alabama, but Aggies have plenty to build on after brutal September schedule.

23. TCU (2-2)

Week 4 Result: Lost to Texas

TCU has to do a better job of taking care of the ball after losing seven turnovers over the last two games.

24. Duke (4-0)

Week 4 Result: Defeated North Carolina Central

Injuries have taken a toll on coach David Cutcliffe’s team, but the Blue Devils are 4-0 going into the Week 5 showdown versus Virginia Tech.

25. Michigan State (2-1)

Week 4 Result: Defeated Indiana

Nifty fake field goal and an interception return for a touchdown propel Michigan State to a win over Indiana and a spot in the top 25.
