Weekly college football top 25 rankings are a big part of every season, and Athlon Sports will update its top 25 following the games each weekend. The sixth weekend of the 2018 season featured three undefeated teams losing for the first time this year. Thanks to a blowout win over Arkansas, Alabama remains No. 1 in the top 25, followed by Ohio State at No. 2, Georgia at No. 3 and Clemson at No. 4. After beating Oklahoma 48-45, Texas jumps into the top 10, with Florida climbing to No. 8 after knocking off LSU. Iowa also joins the top 25 ranks for the first time this season.​ With the sixth week of the 2018 season officially in the books, here are the top 25 teams in college football:

1. Alabama (6-0)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Arkansas

Alabama’s defense is still a work in progress, but good luck in trying to stop the offense.

2. Ohio State (6-0)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Indiana

Buckeyes avoid letdown loss to Indiana after big win at Penn State last Saturday.

3. Georgia (6-0)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Vanderbilt

Injuries to Georgia’s offensive line come at a bad time with a trip to LSU up next.

4. Clemson (6-0)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Wake Forest

Tigers have three 100-yard rushers in blowout 63-3 victory over Wake Forest.

5. Notre Dame (6-0)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Virginia Tech

Fighting Irish cross off a big hurdle to an unbeaten record (and a playoff trip) with a win at Virginia Tech.

6. Penn State (4-1)

Week 6 Result: Bye Week

The Nittany Lions were off in Week 6 and return to action next Saturday against Michigan State.

7. Texas (5-1)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Oklahoma

Sam Ehlinger’s big day lifts Texas to win over Oklahoma and back into the top 10.

8. Florida (5-1)

Week 6 Result: Defeated LSU

Timely offense and success in the trenches leads the way for Florida’s win over LSU.

9. LSU (5-1)

Week 6 Result: Lost to Florida

Joe Burrow’s first interception proves costly, as LSU suffers its first loss of the year. 

10. Oklahoma (5-1)

Week 6 Result: Lost to Texas

Inability to get stops on defenses comes back to hurt Oklahoma once again.

11. Washington (5-1)

Week 6 Result: Defeated UCLA

Huskies hold off upset-minded UCLA, but defense allowed a season-high 6.5 yards per play.

12. Michigan (5-1)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Maryland

Wolverines ready to embark on a critical three-game stretch, starting with a matchup at home against Wisconsin next Saturday.

20. Colorado (5-0)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Arizona State

Another big performance from receiver Laviska Shenault helps Colorado earn a key victory over Arizona State.

21. Auburn (4-2)

Week 6 Result: Lost to Mississippi State

Auburn has rushed for less than 100 yards in three consecutive games.

22. NC State (5-0)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Boston College

The Wolfpack quietly move to 5-0 with victory over Boston College.

23. TCU (3-2)

Week 6 Result: Bye Week

The Horned Frogs were off on Saturday and return to action in Week 7 against Texas Tech.

24. Iowa (4-1)

Week 6 Result: Defeated Minnesota

Hawkeyes join the top 25 after improving to 4-1 with a win over Minnesota on Saturday.

25. Stanford (4-2)

Week 6 Result: Lost to Utah

Stanford’s ground game managed only 42 rushing yards with Bryce Love out due to injury against Utah.
