Offensive Player of the Week: Sam Ehlinger, QB, Texas

Defensive Player of the Week: Julian Love, CB, Notre Dame

Love stuffed the stat sheet for Notre Dame’s defense in the win over Virginia Tech. He recorded seven tackles and one pass breakup and added an interception in the fourth quarter. Additionally, Love returned a fumble 42 yards for a touchdown.

Coordinator of the Week (Offense): Troy Taylor, Utah

Utah’s offense was sharp in the 40-21 win at Stanford. The Utes’ balanced attack delivered 421 total yards (6.6 per play), with 199 coming through the air and 222 on the ground. Utah had just one three-and-out, punted only twice and scored on three consecutive drives in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Coordinator of the Week (Defense): Todd Grantham, Florida

Florida’s defense limited LSU’s offense to just 4.9 yards a play, recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for a loss and scored on an interception return for a touchdown with less than two minutes to go to give the Gators a 27-19 victory.

Team of the Week: Texas

The Longhorns earned the biggest win of coach Tom Herman’s tenure by defeating Oklahoma 48-45 on Saturday. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger accounted for five total touchdowns, while the Texas defense made just enough stops against the Sooners’ high-powered attack. Kicker Cameron Dicker also delivered in the clutch, connecting on a 40-yard field goal with less than 10 seconds remaining to give the Longhorns a three-point victory.

Freshman of the Week (Offense): Brock Purdy, QB, Iowa State

Purdy led Iowa State to an upset win at Oklahoma State. The freshman completed 18 of 23 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns and added 84 yards and a score on 19 rushing attempts.

Freshman of the Week (Defense): Julius Brents/Riley Moss, CB, Iowa

Iowa was hit hard by injuries at cornerback for Saturday’s matchup at Minnesota. However, Brents and Moss stepped up and helped to limit the Golden Gophers to just 234 passing yards. Brents recorded three tackles, two pass breakups and an interception, while Moss accounted for five tackles and two picks.
