The Wolverines limited the Spartans to only 94 yards on 51 plays (1.8 per play) and did not allow a third-down conversion (0-for-12). No Michigan State drive went longer than 48 yards, and the Wolverines recorded seven tackles for a loss and two sacks.

Purdue’s offense gashed the Buckeyes for 539 yards and scored touchdowns on five of their last seven possessions to clinch the victory. The Boilermakers allowed the Buckeyes to move the ball but held firm in the red zone. Coordinator Nick Holt’s defense held Ohio State to two field goals on five trips inside of the red zone.
