The Colorado Buffaloes are continuing their super-rebuild in the transfer portal, as Deion Sanders has made it known he wants to win right away and is making major talent acquisitions.

The Buffs have landed seven transfers in May alone, and one of the more recent ones comes via Southern Utah in Rodrick Ward. A California native, Ward started his career at Mt. San Jacinto College, where he recorded 35 tackles in nine games in 2018. He then parlayed that into an opportunity at Southern Utah.

The 2022 season saw Ward lead the WAC with 15 pass breakups while finishing tied for first in the conference with four interceptions, while also being named to the first-team all-Western Athletic Conference.

Ward chose the Buffs over programs like Cincinnati and Bowling Green, and will join a safety room that is one of the more experienced and proven position groups on the roster.

Colorado continues to add to their No. 1 ranked transfer class.
