Here we go again. Another round of conference realignment rumors is off and running, this time thanks to Dan Patrick.
Patrick spent a portion of his show this Thursday morning discussing the Big Ten and it possible addition of Notre Dame down the line. He then appeared to break potentially significant future news.
Patrick is hearing that if the Big Ten adds Notre Dame, the SEC is going to make a run at Clemson, Florida State and the Hurricanes of Miami.
"This like a chess game, back and forth between the dueling power conferences. @dpshow thinks SEC will go after Clemson, Florida and the U. Get your popcorn ready," said Michael McCarthy.
If the Big Ten adds Notre Dame, it's probably looking at additional inclusions with programs like Oregon, Washington and maybe Stanford. USC and UCLA are already set to join the conference in 2024.
The SEC, meanwhile, is adding Oklahoma and Texas to the conference. Including Clemson, Florida State and Miami in the mix makes plenty of sense, especially geographically.
