David Pollack Names Team That Needs 'Every Advantage They Can Get' in Week 2
The No. 10-ranked Michigan Wolverines enter Week 2 with one of their toughest matchups of the season, a home game against the No. 3-ranked Texas Longhorns. It’s attracting a lot of star power with several celebrities heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan to appear on “College GameDay” and “Big Noon Kickoff.”
However, college football analyst David Pollack said the Wolverines need "every advantage they can get" in his Week 2 Preview, especially when it comes to maximizing their home-field advantage.
“The Big House will be rocking and I’m glad for Michigan’s sake it’s in the Big House because they’re going to need every advantage they can get,” Pollack wrote.
The Wolverines didn’t look like the same well-oiled machine as they did under Jim Harbaugh in 2023, leaning on their starters to pull away from the Fresno State Bulldogs in the fourth quarter, instead of resting them.
The Wolverines are still loaded with talent in potential All-Americans Will Johnson, Colston Loveland and Mason Graham, but there’s far more talent they need to replace according to Pollack.
“You’re replacing a top-10 quarterback,” Pollack said. "That is difficult for anybody. New offensive staff, new whole staff, new offensive line, NFL running back, there’s just a lot of newness.”
The Longhorns come into Ann Arbor as 6.5-point favorites according to Top Offshore Sportsbooks. Fans will be out bright and early to stand in line for the big shows before the most highly anticipated matchup of the weekend at the Big House. Kickoff is set for Saturday, September 7 at noon ET on Fox.
