Desmond Howard Had 1-Word Reaction to Michigan's Huge Upset Over Ohio State
The Michigan Wolverines pulled off an improbable upset over the heavily-favored Ohio State Buckeyes in a hard fought 13-10 game.
Following the game a heartbroken Ryan Day addressed the media after falling to 1-4 against the Wolverines. Day, who has lost four straight to Michigan, admitted there's "disappointment and frustration" with how the game played out.
"Everybody wants to win this game in the worst way, and nobody wants to win it more than we do. It's our No. 1 goal every year," Day said, via ESPN. "And so when you don't do that, there's disappointment and frustration. And so, I don't blame anybody for being upset. I'm upset more than anybody. And those players are, too, and the coaches and everybody that goes at it. We know what we're getting ourselves into here."
Directly contrasting the feelings of Ryan Day were those of ESPN "College GameDay" analyst and Michigan legend Desmond Howard. After staying silent through a brawl that saw a police officer knocked to the ground and pepper spray used, Howard took to social media with a one-word message.
"Hail," he said in a video where he flexed his Michigan shirt under his suit.
After the game, Michigan running back Kalel Mullings, who finished the game with 116 yards and a touchdown, made it clear he thinks the Buckeyes need to "learn how to lose."
"For such a great game, you hate to see stuff like that after the game," he said. "This is bad for the sport and bad for college football, but at the end of the day, some people have got to learn how to lose. You can't be fighting and stuff just because you lost a game. All that fighting -- we had 60 minutes, we had four quarters to do all that fighting, and now, people want to talk and fight. ... People have got to be better."
With the loss and Penn State's win over Maryland, the Nittany Lions will take the place of the Buckeyes in the Big Ten title game.
