Desmond Howard Hints At Major College Football Upset This Weekend

The TCU Horned Frogs are 9-0 and one of four undefeated teams remaining in college football this season.

Currently sitting at No. 4 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings, TCU will likely control their own destiny for a berth in the exclusive, four-team postseason.

Winning out, though, will be a tall task for the Horned Frogs according to ESPN college football analyst Desmond Howard.

Leading up to TCU's matchup with No. 18 Texas this Saturday, Howard spoke on Get Up this morning and announced that the Horned Frogs should be on upset alert this weekend.

"@DesmondHoward says TCU's first loss of the season could come on Saturday against Texas," the Get Up twitter account posted Friday.

TCU's huge matchup against Texas on Saturday will be the second top-25 road game the Horned Frogs have played this season.

In Week 6, TCU traveled to take on previously undefeated and 19th-ranked Kansas. Despite allowing 21 third quarter points to the Jayhawks on the road, the Horned Frogs held on to win 38-31.

Just one week later, TCU survived another scare. After falling behind 30-16 against No. 8 Oklahoma State through three quarters, TCU scored a combined 27 points in the final regulation period and overtime to walk away with a 43-40 victory.

These narrow and come-from-behind wins, according to Desmond Howard, are cause for concern when TCU travels to Texas this week to play the Longhorns at night.

"TCU should be on upset alert because if you've watched them this season, they've really flirted with playing from behind in a significant amount of their games. I mean, it's like two different teams from the first half to the second half," Howard said.

The two schools from Texas will square off under the lights this Saturday at 7:30pm EST.
