East Coast college football fanatics are going to be excited about ESPN's big announcement this Thursday morning.
ESPN has announced a new kickoff time for the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023. Initially, the game was set to kickoff at some point after 8 p.m. ET. It's moving back.
The 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship will now kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET. That means the game should be over or close to it between 10:30-11 p.m. ET.
A big change, particularly for East Coast viewers. With that being said, fans are still hoping for a national championship game to be played on Saturday in coming years.
It makes zero sense that the sport, which dominates Saturdays during the fall, plays its national championship on a Monday. In 2023, most West Coast college football fans won't even be home from work when the game kicks off. That's pretty disappointing.
Please, college football, move the national championship to Saturdays. It's better for everyone.
