ESPN's College GameDay has infused new talent into the production. Those new hires seem to be paying off.
The beloved college sports preview show is averaging 2.1 million viewers through two weeks of the 2022 season. That's the best the show's had in over a decade. A strong start for Kirk Herbstreit and Co.
"College GameDay is averaging 2.1 million viewers through two weeks — its best start to a season in over a decade," said Front Office Sports.
Pat McAfee could be a big reason why College GameDay is having so much success early on this season. ESPN just gave him the full-time job and he's already off and running with it.
McAfee's energy and spontaneity are big reasons why he's such a breath of fresh air for the longtime college football preview show.
"THANK YEW BAMA/TEXAS Can’t wait to be in Boone, NORTH CAROLINAAAAAA this weekend. Let’s GOOOOOOO," McAfee said on Twitter.
College GameDay is heading to Boone, North Carolina for Saturday's Troy vs. Appalachian State game.
