ESPN's 'College GameDay' Location Announcement Leaves Two Fanbases Upset

ESPN's "College GameDay" will travel to two locations for the first round of the College Football Playoff.

First, the crew will travel to South Bend for a matchup between No. 10 Indiana and No. 7 Notre Dame on Friday, Dec. 20. Then, ESPN's flagship college football program will travel to Columbus for a contest between No. 9 Tennessee and No. 8 Ohio State on Saturday, Dec. 21.

"College GameDay" will not air an episode this weekend, despite a highly-anticipated rivalry matchup between the 8-3 Navy Midshipmen and the 11-1 Army Black Knights.

Army and Navy fans were hoping "College GameDay" would make the trip to Landover, Maryland for Saturday's matchup at Northwest Stadium.

"You can go to two playoff games but not Army-Navy?? Unserious show," one fan wrote.

"Disappointed that Game Day isn't coming to the @ArmyNavyGame," another added.

"No Army/Navy this week?!??" another said.

This year's game marks the 125th playing of the iconic Army-Navy rivalry series. Navy leads the all-time series with a 62-54-7 record, but Army has claimed victory in each of the last two matchups.

Head coach Brian Newberry and the Midshipmen are in the midst of a solid campaign, but a win over the rival Black Knights would be a great way to cap off the 2024 regular season. Navy is already locked in for an Armed Forces Bowl matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Jeff Monken and No. 22 Army only have one loss this season, falling to the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Black Knights will face off against the Marshall Thundering Herd in the Independence Bowl.

Saturday's Army-Navy game will kickoff at 3 p.m. EST.
