Recruiting is cut-throat but this takes the cake.
You can't recruit another team's active players. Simple as that.
Hawaii football head coach Nick Rolovich took to Twitter to show some pretty damning evidence that someone from Oregon State was trying to recruit one of his players by sending him things from the athletic department. In the photos it shows plenty of Oregon State pamphlets and and invitation to the Beavers' spring game, which coincidentally was held the same day as Hawaii's.
The oddest part about the tweet is that Rolovich tagged LaVar Ball (yes, Lonzo Ball's father) along with accounts that made a little more sense like the NCAA and OSU Compliance.
My apologies for our players not being able to attend your Spring game. Ours was the same day, bad timing. Quick question, in the 203 years of coaching, none of you realized you couldn’t actively recruit another school’s players? The proof is in the pudding on this one so there's relatively no chance this will end well.
