Keyshawn Johnson Jr., wide receiver for the Cornhuskers, was recently cited for smoking marijuana while at Nebraska and his father ended up pulling him from the football program.
There were many on social media who felt the elder Keyshawn was being too hard on his son by having him return to their home in Los Angeles. Keyshawn Jr. is expected to return to the Nebraska football program for the 2018 season and is using this year to train and get back on track.
Keyshawn Sr. talked to Cari Champion on SportsCenter to clear up why he ultimately decided to bring his son back home.
"If you want to be successful in life, then that's not the position that you put yourself in," Keyshawn Sr. said. "You have to graduate from college, you have to set yourself up for the rest of your life ... So if you want to play sports, if that's what you really, truly, honestly want to do, then you need to show me, show Nebraska, show Mike Riley and Keith Williams, the receivers coach, that these are the things that you want to do so you can graduate from school."
