Kirby Smart Has Honest Comment About Facing Oregon In Week 1

Kirby Smart, Georgia Bulldogs Football

No one expected Oregon to upset Georgia last Saturday, but some thought it would at least be competitive to a certain degree. It wasn't. The defending champs took the Ducks to the woodshed in a 49-3 blowout. It was never close.

The final result was nothing short of stunning. It really shows the gap of competition between the best of the SEC and best of the Pac-12.

This Monday afternoon, Kirby Smart held his press conference and broke down the Oregon game. He was honest about the lack of a test the Ducks were for the Bulldogs.

"We got a lot of connection. We don't know. We never really got tested," he said. "It's not their fault; we never got tested in the composure category."

Ouch. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound. Kirby Smart's right, though.

Oregon was no match in any capacity for the Bulldogs. The Ducks didn't even belong on the same field.

The good news is Georgia's the best team Oregon, or perhaps any team, will face all season long. It can only get better from here.
