Kirk Herbstreit Apologizes For His Nebraska Football Preseason Prediction

Kirk Herbstreit.

Nebraska football is once again a dumpster fire this season. However, this time the university is doing something about it. Scott Frost is no longer the head football coach at the storied Big Ten and former Big 12 program.

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit was not expecting the Huskers to get off to a 1-2 start, with losses to Northwestern and Georgia Southern, to the 2022 season. In fact, he predicted during the preseason that Nebraska would win the Big Ten West.

Herbstreit issued an apology for his Nebraska football preseason prediction via Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Fan: "Still like Nebraska in the west?"

Herbstreit: "I was wrong. Sorry."

Kirk Herbstreit isn't the first and won't be the last to get a sports prediction wrong. We've all been there and he has no need to apologize. However, his Nebraska football prediction was a bit out there.

With that being said, the Huskers still have a chance to win the division. They've played only one conference game thus far and still have the majority of the season ahead of them. We're about to find out very quickly whether or not Scott Frost was the problem.

Nebraska takes on No. 6 Oklahoma this Saturday afternoon. Good luck, Huskers.
