The Utes of Utah, a favorite to win the Pac-12 title for a second year in a row, beat Arizona State 34-13 last Saturday night in Tempe. Unfortunately, it came at a significant injury cost.
Utah tight end Brant Kuithe, one of the top at his position in the country, is going to miss the rest of the 2022 season due to injury. It's likely his college days are over. Most expect Kuithe to test his fate at the 2023 NFL Draft.
A big, big loss for Utah. Hopefully the next man steps up. Here's what Kirk Herbstreit has to say about the significant loss:
"So sorry to hear this and hope your recovery goes well Brant-what a stud…significant loss for the Utes!" said Herbstreit.
The good news for Utah is it still has a potent offensive attack. But Kuithe is a game changer. Bad news for the Utes following the big win in Tempe.
Utah plays Oregon State on Saturday.
