The Legends Poll Top 25: College Football Week 14
The top two teams are set.
After a thrilling victory over Georgia in the SEC championship game, Alabama finished the regular season as the No. 1 team in the Legends Poll.
Notre Dame remained No. 2 in the rankings and has earned the right to play the Crimson Tide in the BCS title game in Miami.
“That was on heck of a football game,” former Georgia coach Vince Dooley said of the SEC championship game. “Alabama and Georgia are two outstanding football teams. I think either of those teams could beat Notre Dame, and I just think Alabama is a better football team.”
Oregon finished the regular season at No. 3. And despite losing the head-to-head battle earlier in the season, No. 4 Florida moved one spot ahead of Georgia. The Bulldogs fell two spots after the SEC championship defeat.
No. 6 Kansas State prevailed over Texas, finishing its magical run and guaranteeing a BCS bowl bid.
No. 7 LSU slid one spot, followed by Pac-12 champion Stanford at No. 8. Texas A&M and South Carolina rounded out the top 10.
ACC champ Florida State finished the season at No. 12, one spot ahead of Clemson. In a surprising turn, the Seminoles will face MAC champion, No. 18 Northern Illinois in the Discover Orange Bowl.
