After losing to Florida in Baton Rouge last season, LSU got a little revenge on Saturday. The Tigers defeated the Gators 17-16 to earn their first SEC win of 2017. The one-point win was a mild upset to some, especially considering LSU lost to Troy a week ago and entered Saturday's game struggling to find its rhythm on offense or win the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball. However, despite the struggles through the first five weeks, LSU went into the Swamp and picked up a key win. And in the process, the Tigers were able to enact some payback.
Following last year's victory (and a back-and-forth between the two programs about how to reschedule the game due to a hurricane), Florida coach Jim McElwain took a swipe at LSU (video included below). McElwain's comments last year prompted this response by LSU running back Derrius Guice on Twitter after Saturday's game
