Quarterback Will Rogers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs sprung a mild upset on Thanksgiving, taking down the Ole Miss Rebels. This rivalry, dubbed the Egg Bowl, apparently resulted in no post-game bad blood.
To the contrary, Rogers presented a gift to the opposing coach's son after the 24-22 victory. In a moment captured by ESPN, Rogers approached Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin's son, Knox, and offered the youngster his game towel. Here's the video:
Lane caught wind of this gift, and playfully ribbed his son on social media.
Rogers' gesture presented itself as the sort of viral moment in which nobody comes out looking bad. A third-year Bulldog who played high school ball in Brandon, MS, Rogers showed a generous spirit and willingness to take himself lightly after a rivalry game.
And Lane Kiffin- while absorbing defeat amid speculation surrounding his time at Ole Miss coming to a close- was able to laugh off the rapport between Rogers and his son.
Ole Miss still holds a sizable advantage in its cumulative Egg Bowl record, enjoying a 64-46-6 all time record over Mississippi State.
