Mark Ingram Doesn't Hesitate When Predicting National Championship Winner
With the college football regular season and conference championships behind us, the focus now shifts to the 12-team College Football Playoff bracket, with analysts across the sport sharing their predictions. One such analyst, former Alabama star running back and current "Big Noon Kickoff" personality Mark Ingram, made his pick clear earlier this week.
Ingram, joined by Rob Stone and Urban Meyer on "The Triple Option" podcast, wasted no time in declaring his pick to win the national championship. He believes the Georgia Bulldogs will emerge victorious and claim their fourth title in the last five years.
"The first four there that have a shot—Oregon, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State... I'm gonna go Georgia," Ingram said confidently. "I just feel like Kirby Smart, man, I just have this belief in him... just how he prepares his team for big games, for big moments. They’ve won three of the last four national championships, right? I'm gonna go with Georgia."
Mark Ingram, staying true to his SEC roots, made his national championship prediction clear. With his alma mater, Alabama, not in the race, Ingram decided to back Georgia, coached by Kirby Smart—who was part of the Alabama staff during Ingram's time with the Crimson Tide.
Though Georgia has faced some quarterback concerns, particularly with Carson Beck's injury and some inconsistent play throughout the season, they are still one of the most complete teams in college football. Ingram pointed out that the Bulldogs were able to defeat Texas with their backup quarterback, Gunner Stockton, which speaks volumes about their depth and resilience.
Ingram is confident that Smart will guide Georgia to another national title, especially considering the Bulldogs have a first-round bye and would avoid facing heavyweights like Ohio State, Oregon, or Texas until the national championship, if those teams make it that far. With a favorable path and a well-rounded roster, Ingram believes Georgia is poised for another championship run.
