Marshawn Lynch’s Reaction To Upcoming 'College GameDay' Appearance Says It All
ESPN’s “College GameDay” is heading to the University of California for the first time ever, with Marshawn Lynch as this week’s guest picker.
In Week 6, the show will air live ahead of the California Golden Bears’ matchup against the No. 8 Miami Hurricanes. This will be Cal’s second ACC game since moving from the Pac-12 this offseason.
Every week, the show brings in a guest to help make game predictions, and this time, it’s Cal alum and NFL legend Lynch.
Lynch shared his reaction to being named the guest picker on X.
“YesLawd," Lynch said. "Pull up early on ya boi at Memorial Glade… And when I say early this time, I mean hella early!!! Pit opens at 3:30 a.m., yeah AM. Show is live at 6 a.m., so we on team no sleep, straight from yo night out, right to campus ready to get it in.”
Lynch played running back for the Golden Bears for three seasons from 2004-06. While he may be known for his play on the field, he's also known for the infamous injury cart video.
In 2006, after California defeated Washington, Lynch celebrated by hopping on the injury cart and driving it around the field to celebrate.
Throughout his college career, Lynch accumulated 490 carries for 3,230 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also racked up 68 catches for 600 yards and six touchdowns in the air.
Lynch was later selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons there before moving on to the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders.
Lynch’s NFL career was filled with achievements, including a Super Bowl title, a First-team All-Pro selection, and five Pro Bowl appearances.
Miami comes into the game with an undefeated 5-0 record, fresh off a last-minute Hail Mary victory against Virginia Tech.
On the other hand, the 3-1 Golden Bears are looking to bounce back after a tough loss to the 1-4 Florida State Seminoles in Week 4 and a bye in Week 5.
Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
