New Video Could Show The Moment Herm Edwards Gets Fired

Pac-12 Extra Points: Herm Edwards, Arizona State Sun Devils

Herm Edwards

The Herm Edwards era is over at Arizona State. The Sun Devils announced on Sunday the program is heading in a different direction. Edwards' firing came just a day after Arizona State was upset by Eastern Michigan.

New video could show the moment Edwards learns of his firing. The video occurs right after ASU lost to Eastern Michigan. Edwards is seen having a discussion with ASU's president and athletic director.

It certainly looks like the three were having a tough discussion. However, it's unclear if this is the exact moment Edwards was fired.

"Herm Edwards was met by the ASU President and AD on the way off the field last night. I’ve heard of getting tarmac’d but I think Herm is the first coach I’ve seen to get end zone’d…," said Jon Tweets Sports.

Interesting, to say the least. Here's what ASU vide president of athletics Ray Anderson has to say about firing Herm Edwards.

“We have made the decision to make a change in the leadership of our football program, effective immediately,” said Anderson, via SI.com. “By mutual agreement, Coach Edwards and I have determined that he will relinquish duties as our head coach. At the core of this is doing what is best for our current team, staff and university. I understand the frustrations out there. We must do better and that starts with our decision today.”

The Sun Devils are seeking their next head coach. As for Herm Edwards, it's likely his coaching days are over.
