Alabama will face their third consecutive top-25 opponent this weekend as the Crimson Tide travels to take on the LSU Tigers this Saturday.

Despite Alabama being a 13-point favorite this weekend on the road, head coach Nick Saban told reporters Monday that he knows it's an important matchup and that the environment will be a good test of poise for the Crimson Tide.

"It’s a rivalry game that’s always an important matchup,” said Saban while speaking to the media Monday. “Brian Kelly has done an outstanding job bringing this team along."

In his first season as head coach of the Tigers, Brian Kelly has led LSU to a 6-2 record. The two losses on LSU's schedule came by way of a one-point defeat in the season-opener to Florida State and a lopsided 40-13 loss to the current AP No. 2 ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

The Alabama head coach continued his press conference by praising LSU's Jayden Daniels, who according to Saban is, "one of the most productive quarterbacks in the country with his ability to run the ball."

The outcome of this weekend's matchup will likely knock one team out of the SEC West race and propel the other into conference championship conversations. Both teams are currently 4-1 in SEC play and are tied with Ole Miss for first place in the SEC West.

The Crimson Tide, ranked sixth in the latest AP Poll, will take on the 15th-ranked Tigers at 7:00 PM EST this Saturday.
