Outrageous College Football Predictions for Week 11

The pressure is on as we race through the final weeks of the regular season

As we charge toward into the final weeks of the 2019 college football regular season, the matchups get tastier and the games get a little more meaningful. The pressure is on. College Football Playoff position and bowl bids are on the line.

This is where OUTRAGEOUS* thrives.

In week 11, we have a couple of contenders going head-to-head with some formidable foes, while some upstarts have their eyes on a rare postseason appearance. Everything is on the table this weekend.

Outrageous College Football Predictions for Week 11

AJ Dillon rushes for 250 yards

Boston College is hosting a Florida State team that just lost its head coach. The season has been a failure in Tallahassee, and now the Seminoles head to the cold Northeast to play a physical Boston College team that can smell blood. Look for the Eagles to pound away with Dillon all game to remind the country just how good the Boston College back has been throughout his career.

Illinois becomes bowl eligible

The Illini has won three in a row and are flying high from a confidence standpoint. They are facing a Michigan State team that is licking its wounds after going through a gauntlet of Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Penn State and only scoring a total of 17 points in those games. Look for Illinois quarterback Brandon Peters and the Illini offense to come out in attack mode right away, forcing the ball down the field and keeping a wounded Spartan team on its heels all game. When the dust settles, Lovie Smith and the Illini will have punched a ticket to bowl season.

Kansas State beats Texas by double-digits

This comes down to coaching, and I believe Kansas Stae has the advantage in that category. Texas simply doesn't present a threat to the Wildcats offensively, and Kansas State has the confidence in knowing they already bullied Oklahoma. The seat is getting warm for Tom Herman in Austin. The temperature will rise after this ugly loss.

Minnesota defeats Penn State

The Gophers are the lowest-ranked unbeaten team in the College Football Playoff rankings. Their schedule has not gotten them much respect this season, but anyone who watches them every week can see Minnesota improving as a team as their confidence grows. P.J. Fleck has something special brewing in the Twin Cities. The fans will be out, the stadium will be loud and it will be cold and possibly wet for the 11 a.m. local time kickoff. Look for the Gophers to catch the Nittany Lions sleeping and throw another wrench into the playoff rankings.

Iowa State upsets Oklahoma

The Sooners have had two long weeks to think about what happened against Kansas State. I'm not sure that's a good thing. Now you're going to see an Oklahoma team that is pressing to get back into the thick of the College Football Playoff discussion. The Cyclones are a well-coached, grounded team smart enough to sit back and wait for Oklahoma to make aggressive mistakes. All the pressure is on the Sooners in this one, and I'm just not sure they can handle it.

*Remember, "outrageous" can be defined as “wildly exaggerated or improbable,” and “very bold, unusual, and startling.” These are "outrageous" predictions and should be treated as such.
