Predictions for Every College Football Game on August 26

The staff makes predictions for the first Saturday of action.

The 2017 college football season officially gets underway on Saturday, August 26. The Week 0 slate is a little light, as just five games dot the schedule. However, there should be no shortage of storylines for fans on the opening Saturday of action. Oregon State-Colorado State kicks off the first Saturday slate in the most intriguing game of the day. The Rams have Mountain West title aspirations and are led by an explosive offense behind quarterback Nick Stevens and receiver Michael Gallup. The Week 0 schedule also features the first look at USF under coach Charlie Strong, Stanford in the post-Christian McCaffrey era, as well as BYU hosting FCS opponent Portland State. UMass and Hawaii is the fifth game on the slate, and this matchup could be a high-scoring affair. The Minutemen are led by All-American tight end Adam Breneman, while the Rainbow Warriors hope to continue improving in coach Nick Rolovich’s second season.
