Through five weeks of the college football season, three programs from across the country have fired their head coach.

UCLA moved on from DeShaun Foster, Virginia Tech fired Brent Pry and Oklahoma State fired program legend Mike Gundy. While there are a handful of coaches around the country who seem to be trending toward the same fate as those three, it may be difficult to find a coach whose seat is as hot as that of Auburn Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze.

The Tigers came up short against the No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies, losing 16-10 in a game that saw them outgained 414 yards to 177. The Auburn offense also went an astoundingly poor 0-of-13 on third down and obtained just nine first downs on the day.

The loss dropped Freeze’s record at Auburn 14-16 across his three years, and fans are ready for a change.

“FIRE HUGH FREEZE,” demanded one fan.

“Can we fire Hugh Freeze and our OC now instead of after we lose to Arkansas, it’s not like they’re gonna make a difference at all against Georgia or Mizzou,” said a second.

“The only thing Hugh Freeze is good at is making historic failures for Auburn Fire Freeze,” added another.

“Fire Hugh Freeze right now. Stop asking him questions,” commented a fourth.

“DJ Durkin’s defense deserves so much better than Hugh Freeze’s offense,” wrote another.

The loss to the Aggies drops Freeze’s record to 1-10 against ranked opponents, and he is now 5-13 in SEC play.

When addressing the media after the game, Freeze called the Tigers’ showing unacceptable.

“Man, I know I sound like a broken record,” Freeze said via Justin Ferguson. “It’s unacceptable. We have too good of skill players and quarterbacks and running backs. I think we’re solid at OL, too. But we certainly aren’t playing like it. So that falls on me and the staff to figure out why.”

According to USA TODAY, if the Tigers were to fire Freeze on or before Sunday, Sept. 28, it would cost them $16.25 million.

With the Tigers having a bye week before a meeting with No. 5 Georgia, it may be the right time if the program plans on making a change.
