After Auburn's decision to fire Bryan Harsin on October 31st, rumors related to the Tigers head coaching search have run rampant across college football.

One name that's frequently been linked to the position is Lane Kiffin, the current head coach at Ole Miss.

While Kiffin has stayed relatively quiet about his future with the Rebels, a report surfacing yesterday only increased speculation after a claim was made that "Lane to Auburn is happening."

Wanting to quash all rumors ahead of Ole Miss' regular season finale this Thursday, Kiffin reportedly spoke to his players today and "assured them that he hasn't accepted a job at any other school."

According to an ESPN article covering the situation, a source close to Kiffin claims that "any reports out there about his accepting another offer were totally false" and that the Ole Miss head coach has his focus on beating Mississippi State on Thanksgiving.

After guiding the Rebels to their first 10-win season last year, Kiffin has led Ole Miss to a 8-3 mark through the team's first 11 games in 2022.

Kiffin, asked about the Auburn rumors following last week's blowout loss to Arkansas, said "I don't know about all that stuff out there, No. 1 [candidate] stuff. Maybe if they watched the first half, I wouldn't be No. 1 anymore."

The Rebels' 42-27 loss to Arkansas marked Ole Miss' second consecutive loss and third defeat in the past four weeks.

Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels will host Mississippi State on Thursday night in the annual "Egg Bowl" rivalry game.
