College football's transfer portal was busy this week.

With the regular season coming to a close, hundreds of college athletes have made the decision to change programs in search for a fresh start.

Tunmise Adeleye, a former five-star Texas A&M recruit, has reportedly joined the growing list of transfers this Thursday afternoon.

"BREAKING: Texas A&M Edge Tunmise Adeleye tells me he will enter the Transfer Portal. The 6’4 275 Edge from Katy, TX was ranked as a Top 40 player in the 2021 Class (No. 3 Edge) Held 34 offers out of high school including Ohio St, Alabama, Oklahoma, & others," college football recruiting specialist Hayes Fawcett tweeted Thursday.

Ranked as the third-best edge rusher in the 2021 class, Adeleye's decision to enter the transfer portal was posted on Twitter alongside the following statement which can be read here:

"First of all, I would like to thank the Almighty for providing me with the opportunity to play collegiate football at the highest level. I want to thank Him for always ordering my steps throughout every journey. I want to thank my parents and various mentors around me that have been a pillar of strength and support for me.

I want to thank Coach Fisher and his staff for the opportunity to play at TAMU. Thank you to my professors and and academic support staff for providing me the support to thrive academically. I will forever cherish the relationships that I built in College Station.

After careful reflection, discussions with my family and petitions before the most high god, I have decided to enter the transfer portal."

Tunmise Adeleye originally committed to Ohio State out of high school in April of 2020 but after deliberation, decided to de-commit and joined the Aggies in December.

Redshirted in 2021, Adeleye made his highly-anticipated Aggies debut in 2022 but suffered an injury just two games into Texas A&M's season. Despite optimism that the former five-star recruit would play again in 2022, he unfortunately remained sidelined for the rest of the year.

Adeleye's rare blend of size, speed and power will likely cement him as one of the most sought after transfers in the current cycle.

With Thursday's news of Adeleye's intent to transfer, Texas A&M has now lost seven players to the portal this season.
