Steve Sarkisian Is Getting Crushed For His Comments About Facing Alabama

Steve Sarkisian, Texas Longhorns Football

Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns will face their toughest test of the 2022 season this Saturday when they host the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide. It sort of sounds like Sark is already chalking it up as a loss.

Sarkisian spoke at length about his team's opponent during his Monday press conference. He's already considering the possibility of losing and justifying it by saying the Longhorns' goals will still be in tact with a loss.

Not the best vote of his confidence from Sarkisian here.

"My goal is to be in Dallas on Dec. 3. This game has no impact on that," he said. "We don't impact them going to the SEC Championship. But it's an awesome opportunity. Great setting for college football."

He's not wrong. Texas can lose and still go on a run to the Big 12 Championship. However, fans aren't too thrilled with his comments.

It sounds like he's expecting a loss.

"Not what you like to hear from the head coach," one fan wrote.

"Conceding a loss week 2? Someone remind him, they made a decision to join the SEC. Days are numbered for conceding losses to just focus on winning your conference," another fan commented.

Texas hosts No. 1 Alabama this Saturday at noon ET.
