It's no secret that Alabama's freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was the breakout star of the National Championship game.
When Jalen Hurts had a shaky first half against the lockdown defense of Georgia, Nick Saban made the gutsy call to put the unexperienced Tua in. After seeing all that Tua could do, some Crimson Tide fans seemed to turn on Hurts on social media.
Once Tua got wind of what some were saying he quickly took to Twitter to defend his teammate, stating Alabama wouldn't be there without the work of Hurts. Seeing as though Hurts was the man under center the majority of the time, there's no doubting his importance to the Tide's championship run.
Hurts appreciated the gesture and responded accordingly. After all, he was the first one on the field to congratulate Tua when he made big plays in the second half, proving he was the most proud of the young quarterback.
Either way, Crimson Tide fans are in for an exciting season if these two are intertwined under center.
