The Blazers' alternate jerseys include a patient's name on the nameplate for Week 6.
UAB’s Week 6 uniform for the matchup against Louisiana Tech will have some extra special meaning.
The Blazers will wear an alternate gray uniform against the Bulldogs, with the back of the jersey featuring a patient at Children’s Harbor. The hospital is located a block from UAB’s campus and helps care for ill children and their families. The team also makes regular trips to the hospital to visit with children at Children’s Harbor.
“Children's Harbor has absolutely become a part of the Blazer family," said head coach Bill Clark in a release on the school’s website. "I intend for this relationship to grow with our program. As we build, there will be even more we can do to provide encouragement and a positive distraction to support the terrific work Children's Harbor does."
