Updated Heisman Trophy Odds Show Clear Favorite
The college football season is 11 weeks through and those in contention as award winners are becoming more and more clear across the sport.
One award, in particular, that fans are constantly tracking is the most prestigious one in all of college football -- the Heisman Trophy.
This year, those in the running for the award are becoming more clear with plenty of teams having played all but a couple of their remaining games on the schedule.
With another chaotic slate of games completed, the Heisman Trophy odds were updated by FanDuel, showing a clear winner for the award.
Travis Hunter is standing out as the potential Heisman Trophy winner
The updated FanDuel odds give two-way superstar Travis Hunter the best odds to win the Heisman Trophy award. He's been given +120 odds, topping Oregon star quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
Plenty of factors go into the award -- with one being team success. It's why the award predominantly goes to quarterbacks, as they typically play the largest role into team success.
As a wide receiver and cornerback, though, Hunter makes a huge impact on both sides of the ball for Colorado, and he's proven to be a top ten NFL prospect on both sides of the ball.
In nine games played, Hunter has 69 receptions for 856 yards and nine touchdowns catches. That's just his impact on one side of the ball, too.
Defensively, Hunter has 21 tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions and seven passes defended.
Gabriel's Oregon team is a perfect 10-0 on the season as the top-ranked program in all of college football, which gives clear reason as to why he's got the second-best odds for the award.
Another player who is wildly deserving of being in the Heisman conversation is Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, who is putting up video-game like numbers on a weekly basis. He holds +350 odds to win the award, narrowly trailing Gabriel.
Miami quarterback Cam Ward is sliding out of the race after the Hurricanes lost a game this past weekend, which will also hurt their College Football Playoff ranking.
