Urban Meyer Is Getting Crushed For His Michigan Football Prediction Last Week

Urban Meyer, Jacksonville Jaguars

Urban Meyer is back in the news following a bold prediction he made prior to the Michigan-Penn State game last week.

To the delight of Wolverine fans, Urban's prediction that Penn State would shut down, or at least slow down, Michigan's rushing attack could not have been further from what actually happened.

"Urban Meyer before Michigan vs. Penn State: 'We all agree Penn State will shut down — or slow down — the Wolverine run game. There’s no doubt…'," Clayton Sayfie tweeted Sunday, referencing Meyer's pregame prediction.

Penn State didn't just fail to slow down Michigan's running game.

The Nittany Lions actually allowed more rushing yards to the Wolverines Saturday (418) than the team had allowed in all other games combined this season (398). Coming into the game, many analysts, including Meyer, thought the 5th ranked Penn State run defense was legitimate.

Something that is legitimate, however, is the talent this Wolverine team has at tailback. Both Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards rushed for over 165 yards in the win, including two touchdowns apiece.

Michigan will have a bye this week to prepare for a Michigan State team that has won the last two matchups between the two schools.
