Alabama basketball set to host 2025 five-star forward Will Riley for an official visit

On paper, the Alabama Crimson Tide roster is the best in the country by a wide margin.

Nate Oats has been thriving both in the transfer portal and in the recruiting ranks, boasting the No. 2 recruiting class in the country only behind Duke and having it complimented by the No. 7 transfer portal class in the country. The appeal to play for Oats in Tuscaloosa has only grown after he stuck around despite both Kentucky and Arkansas being interested in him, and it is becoming more evident by the day.

According to a report by 247Sports, the Tide are set to welcome one of the best players in the 2025 class for an official visit this weekend.

Five-star forward Will Riley is viewed as a possible reclass candidate and is set to take an official visit to Alabama after a trip to Kentucky and Illinois. This past month he released a top five of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, and the NBL.

His decision on whether or not he will remain in the 2025 class is expected to be made after the visits. Through 10 games of EYBL circuit play, Riley is averaging 21.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

The Tide roster is already as loaded as they come, so what his role would be is up in the air. If he is willing to possibly come off of the bench or wait his turn for the following season, Alabama could really be in the midst of an elite run.

247Sports' Composite Rankings has him as the No. 16 player in the country.
