Five-Star Alabama Signee Derrion Reid Vying For Spot On USA Basketball's Junior National U18 Team

Before he eventually gets to Tuscaloosa to help the Tide contend for a title, Alabama's top-ranked player in their 2024 class Derrion Reid has another goal in mind.

Reid is currently in Colorado Springs, Colorado as he was one of the 28 top players invited to compete for Team USA's Junior National U18 Team. He made it through the first three days of training camp, which saw the number drop from 30 to 18.

He will now be fighting for one of the 12 spots for the upcoming 2024 FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup from June 3-9 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

If he makes the team, he and the 11 other players representing the stars and stripes will kick off Group B play with Argentina, Belize, and Brazil. Their schedule opens up with the host country, Argentina, on June 3.
