David Pollack Locks in Alabama-LSU Prediction For Saturday
Just about every season, the game between the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide has major SEC and national championship implications. This year is no different.
Both teams enter the game with two losses, meaning that a third loss will likely eliminate their chances of qualifying for the College Football Playoff. The Tigers are coming off a blowout loss to the Texas A&M Aggies two weeks ago and need a strong performance to keep their hopes alive. Alabama is coming off a dominant 34-0 win over the Missouri Tigers and is looking to make another statement on the road this Saturday.
David Pollack shared his game prediction on his YouTube channel, "David Pollack College Football." He is choosing the Crimson Tide primarily because of quarterback Jalen Milroe's running ability.
"Rushing quarterbacks have given LSU fits," Pollack said. "I don't think this is a good matchup for LSU. They've got to find a way to run the football, use the home crowd. Play action a little bit with Nuss (Garrett Nussmeier). I've got the Tide, man."
Earlier in the year, in their game against the South Carolina Gamecocks, QB LeNorris Sellers recorded 10 carries for 88 yards and scored two touchdowns before leaving the game early due to an injury. That ultimately led to the Tigers staging an impressive comeback.
In their last game against the Aggies, the outcome changed dramatically when backup QB Marcel Reed entered the game. The Tigers were leading 17-7 nearly midway through the third quarter. After Reed came in, he rushed for 62 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries. Ultimately, the Aggies won the game, 38-23.
The Tigers face a tough challenge with Milroe, who has rushed for 380 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. To secure a victory, the Tigers will need to contain the quarterback's running ability and leverage the support of the home crowd.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
