College Football Fans Bracing for One Major Game Next Year

The SEC released each team's schedule for the 2025 college football season, revealing some of the biggest matchups on the horizon.

While many college football fans spoke on the broad scale of teams with the toughest schedule, two fanbases were strictly worried about one matchup.

An SEC battle between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs is set to hit the screen on Sept. 27 in Athens, Ga.

Given the all-time rivalry and Alabama's dominance over the Bulldogs the last few seasons, many fans have this matchup circled on their calendar.

The last time the two faced off, the Crimson Tide took down the Bulldogs 41-34 on Sept. 28 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. That marked Alabama's second straight win and its ninth win in the last 10 head-to-head games against the Bulldogs

Upon the release of the schedule, some fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the battle of powerhouse programs.

"Bama at home. gonna be hard to beat em even at home," said one fan

"I'm going to say Alabama. We can't seem to beat them for some reason," said another fan

"I can’t wait til those clowns come to Athens man!" mentioned one fan

"Ty Simpson gonna cook lil bro," commented one fan

"I think I'd almost want the bye week after,  tough choice," said one fan

"Please let it be a Blackout! Please let it be a Blackout!" said another fan

The Bulldogs haven't fared well against the Crimson Tide for much of the past few years, but they were able to punch a ticket to the College Football Playoff in 2024.

Georgia won the SEC title game against the Texas Longhorns and now have a first-round bye in the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. Their second-round game will be played on Jan. 1 at 8:45 p.m. ET.

While the Bulldogs prepare for their road to the national title, Alabama will be playing in the ReliaQuest Bowl after a 9-3 season.

They're slated for a matchup against the Michigan Wolverines on Dec. 31 at noon ET.
